Producer Portfolio is a production command center for songwriters, producers, and independent artists. It helps you organize your music catalog, plan and run studio sessions, track creative time, manage lyrics, and optionally sync everything across your iPhone and iPad.
The app is organized around four main tabs:

2. Getting Started
First launch
When you open Producer Portfolio, a splash screen displays the app name and version. After a brief moment, you arrive at the Tracks tab.
On first launch, your catalog is empty. Tap the + button (top right on iPhone, or in the sidebar toolbar on iPad) to create your first track.
Creating your first track
Tap New Track (+).
Enter a track name (song title).
Optionally set Artist, Album / Session, status, genre, and DAW platforms.
Add a summary describing the track's direction or goals.
Tap Create Session to add your first studio session with tasks.
Tip: Artist and Album/Session fields determine where your track appears in the catalog hierarchy. Tracks with the same artist and album are grouped together automatically.
3. Tracks — Your Music Catalog
The Tracks tab displays your entire catalog in a three-level hierarchy:
Artist — the credited artist or project name
Album / Session — the album, EP, or recording session name
Track — individual songs with status, genre, and version

Navigating the catalog
iPhone: Tap an artist or album to expand it. Tap a track to open its detail view.
iPad: Use the sidebar to select a track; details appear in the main panel.
Disclosure arrows expand or collapse artist and album groups.

4. Track Details & Sessions
Select any track to open its detail view. Here you manage all metadata, sessions, lyrics, and project folder links for that song.

Track profile
The profile section includes:
Track name — the song title
Artist — credited artist (affects catalog grouping)
Album / Session — album or session name (middle catalog tier)
Artwork — tap to add track, artist, or album artwork from Photos
Summary — free-text description of the track
Lifecycle status — current production stage (Ideation through Released)
Genre — musical category from your configured list
DAW platforms — which digital audio workstations you use for this track
Version & Build — track-level version tracking
DAW project folder
Link a folder on your device to this track for quick access to your DAW project files:
In track detail, find DAW project folder.
Tap Choose and select a folder from the Files picker.
Tap Open anytime to launch that folder in Files.
Sessions
Sessions represent focused studio work periods — a mixing pass, vocal session, or arrangement sprint. Each session has:
Name (e.g., "Session Alpha", "Vocal Pass B")
Status (Planned, Active, Paused, Complete)
Version and build numbers
Start date
Task list (managed in Control Room)
Tap Create Session to add a new session. Tap an existing session to edit it or open it in Control Room.
Lyrics Workbench
Tap Lyrics Workbench to write and revise lyrics for the track. The workbench supports:
Full lyric text editing
Multiple named revisions with timestamps
Creating new revisions from the current lyrics
Deleting a track
Scroll to the bottom of track detail and tap Delete Track. This permanently removes the track and all its sessions, tasks, and lyrics from your portfolio.
5. Control Room
Control Room is your session workbench. Select a track and session, then work through tasks with built-in timers and focus mode.

Selecting a track and session
Open the Control Room tab.
Use the horizontal track selector to browse by artist and album.
Tap a track icon to select it.
Choose a session from the Session picker menu.
You can also jump to Control Room from track detail by tapping Open in Control Room on a session.
Working with tasks
Each session contains categorized tasks (Recording, Mixing, Arrangement, Sound Design, Vocal, Admin, or your custom categories). For each task you can:

Tap Start to begin tracking studio time on that task
Tap Resequence in the toolbar, then drag tasks to reorder
Hide completed tasks
Toggle Hide Done to show only remaining tasks during an active session.
Archive Project
When a session is complete, tap Archive Project to copy the linked DAW project folder to your vault destination (configured in Settings). This creates a dated archive of your project files.
6. Analytics
The Analytics tab shows how much studio time you have tracked across your portfolio.

Overview metrics
Total tracked time — combined hours and minutes across all tasks
Tracks with tracked time — how many tracks have logged sessions
Sessions with tracked time — how many sessions have time entries
Breakdowns
By Track — see which songs consume the most studio time
By Session — see time per session with parent track name
Time is recorded automatically when you use task timers in Control Room. Paused time is not counted; only completed work sessions contribute to totals.
7. Settings
The Settings tab controls how Producer Portfolio stores data, appears, and organizes your workflow.

When iCloud sync is enabled, you can:
View sync health status
Tap Force Sync Now to push/pull immediately
Tap Reload All Data from iCloud to replace local data with cloud data
Tap Show Sync Diagnostics for technical details (copyable/shareable)
Backup & Restore
Export Backup — save a complete portfolio file (tracks, settings, artwork) to Files
Import Backup — restore from a previously exported backup file
Archive destination — choose where Control Room archives project folders
Warning: Importing a backup replaces all current tracks and settings on the device. Export a backup before importing if you want to keep your current data.
Display
Theme — Light, Dark, or System (follows iOS appearance)
Expand any list to add, rename, reorder, or remove values:

Tap a list header to expand it. Tap Reorder to drag items into your preferred order.
8. Sync, Backup & Restore
iCloud sync workflow
Ensure you are signed into iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled (iOS Settings).
In Producer Portfolio Settings, select All My Devices (iCloud).
If existing iCloud data is found, choose whether to keep cloud data or upload from this device.
Changes sync automatically in the background. Use Force Sync for immediate updates.
Backup file format
Exported backups are portable files you can store in iCloud Drive, email, or external storage. They include all tracks, sessions, tasks, lyrics, settings, and artwork. Import on any device running Producer Portfolio.
Recommended backup strategy
Export a backup before major iCloud sync changes
Export monthly if you work locally without iCloud
Keep at least one backup before importing a restore file
9. Tips & Best Practices
Catalog organization
Use consistent artist names — "Aurora Lane" and "aurora lane" group separately unless spelled the same
Use album/session names for EPs, albums, or recording session batches
Increment version and build numbers when you bounce a new mix or master
Session workflow
Create a new session for each distinct studio pass (e.g., "Vocal Session", "Mix v2")
Break work into small, actionable tasks — "Fix chorus vocal timing bar 17" not "Fix vocals"
Use timers consistently to build meaningful analytics
Archive project folders when a session is complete
iPad vs iPhone
iPad — sidebar + detail layout is ideal for catalog browsing and lyrics editing
iPhone — Control Room and focus mode work great for in-studio task management
Enable iCloud sync to move seamlessly between devices
10. Troubleshooting
Issue
Solution
iCloud sync not working
Check iCloud Drive is on in iOS Settings. Open Sync Diagnostics in app Settings. Try Force Sync Now.
Data not appearing on other device
Confirm both devices use the same Apple ID and iCloud sync is enabled on both. Wait a few minutes or force sync.
Cannot open project folder
Re-select the folder in track detail. iOS security bookmarks can become stale after folder moves.
Archive fails
Ensure an archive destination is set in Settings → Backup & Restore, and a project folder is linked on the track.
Backup import fails
Verify the file is a valid Producer Portfolio backup (.json). Update the app if the backup uses a newer schema.
Track in wrong group
Check artist and album/session spelling matches exactly across tracks in the same group.
