Overview
This policy covers Rolling Forecast, a single App Store app with a Mac version and an iPad version (together, “the Apps”).
The Apps do not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no servers of ours that receive your data, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking. Your financial data stays on your devices and in the locations you choose.
Data stored on your device
- Organization names, budgets, actuals, forecast scenarios, notes, reports, and related financial structures you enter or import
- App preferences such as appearance, currency formatting, outline views, and the backup folders you choose
- On iPad: the snapshots you import and any edits you make to report packs
This data is kept in each app’s private storage on your device. Deleting an app deletes its data, except for any exports or backups you saved elsewhere.
Password-protected organizations
You can protect an organization with a password. Its contents are then saved encrypted with a key derived from that password. The password itself is never stored, so it cannot be recovered by us or anyone else. The iPad version keeps a protected organization unlocked in memory only until the app quits.
Edit access
The Mac app can limit who may change an organization. The key that allows editing is saved in your Keychain. If iCloud Keychain is turned on, Apple syncs it to your other devices with end-to-end encryption, so your other Macs can edit too. It is never sent to us. Edit keys leave your Mac only when you choose to share them, by exporting a key file or an editable copy of an organization. An optional edit password is never stored; it only unlocks an encrypted copy of the key kept inside the organization.
Microphone and speech recognition
Both Apps offer an optional voice search: you speak an account name and the App finds it. The microphone is used only while voice search is active, and audio is not recorded or saved.
Speech is converted to text on your device whenever your device supports it. Otherwise it is processed by Apple’s speech recognition service under Apple’s privacy policy. We never receive your audio or transcripts. You can turn off microphone access at any time in your device’s privacy settings.
Apple Intelligence
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, the Apps can write chart insights and report summaries using Apple’s on-device language model. This processing happens on your device; your data is not sent to us.
Network use
The Apps connect to the internet only when you use a feature that needs it:
- Mac: restoring a zip backup from an HTTPS link you enter (for example a Google Drive share link)
- iPad: importing an organization export or backup from a link you paste, and refreshing it later
These downloads go directly from your device to the address you provided. That service (for example Google Drive) handles the request under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to us.
Files you import, export, or link
When you import or export Excel workbooks, PDF or PowerPoint files, zip backups, or organization files, the Apps read and write only the files and folders you pick with the system file panels. When you link a backup folder, the App remembers that folder so it can load newer backups when you ask it to refresh.
Sharing and sale of data
We do not collect, sell, or share personal information. Anything you share, such as an exported report, is shared by you through the system share sheet or file panels.
Children
The Apps are business and finance tools and are not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We will update this policy if the Apps’ data practices change, and change the “Last updated” date above.
