Beacon Nav is an indoor wayfinding and Wi‑Fi survey app. This policy describes what the app uses on your device and what (if anything) leaves your device. The App Store listing links here. The same text is in the app under Settings → About & Privacy.
Floor plans you import, beacon placements, route graphs, Wi‑Fi survey pins, appearance settings, and optional Home Assistant connection details are stored in the app’s sandbox (and, for the home-screen widget, in the shared App Group). A Home Assistant long-lived access token is stored in the iOS Keychain on this device. We do not operate a Beacon Nav cloud account.
Beacon Nav uses Location to:
Precise and coarse location are used only for these indoor features. Location is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not uploaded to a Beacon Nav server. If you enable Home Assistant automations, the app sends presence events (arrive / leave / return at a named beacon) to the Home Assistant URL you provide.
Bluetooth is used to discover nearby beacons and bind them to map markers. Scan results stay on device unless you export a pack.
You may import a floor-plan image from Photos. Images stay on this device unless you share a pack or backup.
Local network access is used for Wi‑Fi survey measurements and to reach a Home Assistant instance on your LAN or a URL you enter.
Optional local notifications fire when you are near a placed beacon. They are created on device and are not sent through a push server.
Wi‑Fi performance sampling may request a well-known connectivity URL (for example generate_204) to measure latency. That request does not include your floor plans or identity.
You can export .beaconpack, .calibpack, .beaconnodes, and .beaconbackup files via AirDrop, Files, or similar. You control when those files leave the device.
Beacon Nav is not directed at children under 13.
The in-app copy of this policy is the current version. App Store listings link to this hosted copy.
