1. Overview

Developer Portfolio is a personal shipping cockpit for Apple-platform developers. It helps you:

• Maintain a portfolio of projects across lifecycle stages (Ideation → Published → Maintenance).
• Track App Store review waits with a single Submitted for Review status and First Time vs Release types.
• Plan sprints and typed activities (Fix, Enhancement, Idea, Refactor, Research).
• Execute work in the Sprint Workbench and time deep work in Focus mode.
• Review time spent in Analytics and glance at shipping status from Home Screen widgets.
• Optionally sync via iCloud, export backups, and vault project folders.
• Link a public App Store ID to cache live listing details for Apple-platform apps.

The main interface uses five tabs: Projects, Settings, Workbench, Review, and Analytics. On larger iPads, navigation may use a split view; on iPhone, a stack-based layout.

2. Getting started

1. Launch the app. A short splash screen shows Developer Portfolio — Build. Track. Ship.
2. Open the Projects tab.
3. Create your first project (name, summary, status, platforms, category).
4. Add a sprint, then add activities inside that sprint.
5. Open the sprint in Workbench to reorder work, run Focus sessions, and mark items done.
6. When you submit to Apple, set status to Submitted for Review and choose First Time or Release on the Review tab.
7. Visit Settings to choose theme, storage mode, widgets guidance, and backup preferences.

3. Projects

Projects (applications) are the top-level records in your portfolio.

Create or edit a project

• Name — product name as you want it listed.
• Summary — short description of what you’re building.
• Lifecycle status — defaults include Ideation, Design, Development, Testing, Ready for Review, Submitted for Review, Published, Maintenance (customizable in Settings).
• Platforms — e.g. iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS.
• Category — e.g. Productivity, Utilities, Business.
• Version & build — current marketing version and build number.
• Icon — optional image via the system photo picker.
• Project folder — link a folder on disk (Files / local storage) so you can open it later or copy it into the Project Vault.
• App Store — available when the app includes an Apple platform (iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS, or visionOS). Link a public App Store ID to validate the listing and cache store details locally.

Link an App Store ID

1. Open a project and expand App Profile.
2. Confirm at least one Apple platform is selected (the App Store row appears only then).
3. Tap Link, then paste the numeric App Store ID from App Store Connect (App Information → Apple ID), or paste a public App Store URL that contains id….
4. Tap Look Up & Save. The app validates the ID against Apple’s public store listing and stores the results with this application.

Cached details typically include the live store name, seller, version, release dates, size, ratings, minimum iOS, category, price, age rating, languages, bundle ID, artwork, release notes, description, and a link to open the App Store page.

• After a successful lookup, the profile Version is updated to match the live store version. If that version differs from what you already had, Build resets to 1 (the public listing does not include a build number).
• On the linked screen, use the discreet refresh control (↻) to re-fetch listing details. Use the ••• menu to change the ID or remove the link.
• Listing data is stored in your portfolio (on device and/or iCloud with your other app records). It is not App Store Connect review status.

Delete a project

Deleting a project removes its sprints, activities, review submissions, and associated Focus history from the portfolio. Export a backup first if you might need the data later.

4. App Review

The Review tab tracks how long your builds spend waiting in Apple App Review. One lifecycle status drives the clock; the review type is chosen separately so averages stay accurate.

Start tracking

1. Open a project and set lifecycle status to Submitted for Review.
2. When prompted, choose First Time Review (first App Store review for the product) or Release Review (a subsequent version).
3. Confirm the submitted date/time. The live elapsed timer starts from that moment.

While a submission is open, the project detail shows a live banner with elapsed time and review type.

Finish tracking

When you leave Submitted for Review (for example to Published), the app asks for a completion time. That duration feeds historical averages and forecasts for that review type only.

Review dashboard

• In flight — total open submissions, plus counts for First Time and Release.
• Live Queue — open items split into First Time Reviews and Release Reviews, each with elapsed time, type-specific forecast, and progress toward the matching average.
• Averages & medians — calculated separately for First Time and Release from completed history.
• History — completed submissions you can edit or delete; use + to add a manual record for backfill.

5. Sprints

Each application can contain multiple sprints.

• Create a sprint with name, version, build, status (Planned, Active, Paused, Complete by default), and start date.
• Add activities (work items) with a type/category, title, and notes.
• Mark activities done as you finish them; incomplete items stay visible in the Workbench.
• Use Hide Completed Sprints in Settings → Display if you want a cleaner list.

Open a sprint in the Workbench to focus on execution for that slice of work.

6. Sprint Workbench

The Workbench is where day-to-day shipping happens.

1. Select an application and sprint.
2. Review the activity list. Optionally hide completed items.
3. Reorder activities to match priority.
4. Edit notes, change categories, or delete items you no longer need.
5. Use vault actions (when configured) to snapshot the linked project folder.

On compact devices you’ll navigate via stacks; on regular-width iPads, split navigation keeps context visible.

7. Focus mode

Focus mode turns a single activity into a timed work session.

• Enter Focus: double-tap an activity in the Workbench.
• Timer: play to start counting; pause when you step away.
• Notes: capture decisions or blockers while you work.
• Done: mark the activity complete when finished.

Recorded sessions contribute to Analytics totals for that app, sprint, and task.

8. Analytics

The Analytics tab aggregates Focus time so you can answer: Where did the hours go?

• Totals by application
• Totals by sprint
• Totals by task / activity

Analytics reflect data stored in your portfolio (device and/or iCloud). They are not sent to a Developer analytics service.

9. Widgets

Add Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets from the widget gallery. Tap a widget to jump back into the matching tab.

• Portfolio Pulse / Ship Pipeline / Active Sprint / Work Queue / Focus Timer / App Snapshot — shipping and focus at a glance.
• Review Board — apps currently in App Review, with First Time vs Release counts.
• Review Timer — elapsed wait for the oldest open submission, with a forecast using that submission’s review-type average.
• Review Forecast — First Time and Release averages side by side, plus progress for open waits.

Widget data refreshes from an App Group snapshot when the portfolio changes. See Settings → Widgets for a short reminder list.

10. Sync & iCloud

Settings → Sync controls where portfolio data lives.

Useful sync actions

• Force Sync Now — push/pull promptly when online.
• Reload All Data from iCloud — replace local portfolio with the cloud copy (destructive to local-only changes).
• Show Sync Diagnostics — technical status useful for troubleshooting.
• Sync Health — quick indicator when iCloud mode is on.

If the iCloud container cannot open, confirm you’re signed into iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled.

11. Backup, Restore & Project Vault

Manual backup

Settings → Backup & Restore → Back Up to File exports a JSON backup (schema version 1) including applications and settings.

Restore

Restore from Backup replaces your current portfolio data on this device and, when in iCloud sync mode, affects the synced dataset. The app shows confirmation warnings—read them before proceeding.

Automated backup reminders

• Enable reminders and choose an interval (days, weeks, or months).
• Pick a destination folder.
• Use Run Backup Now when prompted or from settings.
• Overdue checks run at app launch based on time since the last successful backup.

Project Vault

• Choose a Vault destination and subfolder name (default Project Vaults).
• Link a project folder on an application.
• Copy the folder into the vault; copies use sequenced names so earlier snapshots are preserved.

13. Tips & troubleshooting

• Ship rhythm: Keep one Active sprint per app you’re actively building; park the rest as Planned or Paused.
• Review readiness: Move lifecycle status to Ready for Review when TestFlight builds are stabilizing; move to Submitted for Review when the build is with Apple.
• First vs release averages: Always pick the correct review type when submitting—forecasts use only matching completed history.
• Before risky sync: Back Up to File, then proceed.
• Icon tips: Use a simple 1024-style mark; it scales better in lists.
• App Store lookup fails: Confirm the app is live on the App Store, the ID is correct, and you have a network connection. Pre-release-only apps may not resolve via the public listing.
• Lost work after restore: Restores replace data by design. Keep dated backup files.
