Terms of Use
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Developer: Mike Coxon (“we”, “us”)
Contact: cawingcrows.misic@gmail.com
By downloading or using EasyGit Backup (the “App”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and any App Store rules applicable to your purchase or download.
2. What the App does
The App helps back up, verify, schedule, and restore Git repositories and related metadata on macOS, including repositories stored in iCloud Drive and managed with EasyGit. You are responsible for choosing destinations, retaining snapshots that matter to you, and verifying restores before relying on them for disaster recovery.
3. Your responsibilities
- Maintain working backups of critical work beyond a single device when appropriate.
- Ensure you have rights to access and back up the repositories and files you select.
- Keep macOS, Git, and the App updated.
- Protect credentials, encryption keys, and physical/network access to destinations.
- Test restores periodically (including canary/verification features).
4. No warranty
The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that backups will be uninterrupted, error-free, or sufficient for your particular recovery needs.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or zero if the App was free).
6. Third-party services
iCloud, EasyGit, NAS devices, cloud sync folders, and other third-party systems are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, eviction policies, or data handling by those providers.
7. Acceptable use
You may not reverse engineer the App except where permitted by law, misuse the App to violate others’ rights, or attempt to interfere with Apple platform security.
8. Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and the developer, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any) to the extent required by Apple’s terms; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
9. Changes & termination
We may update these Terms by posting a new effective date. We may stop distributing the App at any time. You may stop using the App at any time and uninstall it.
10. Governing law
Except where prohibited, these Terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumers may have additional mandatory rights in their country of residence.
